West bound to San Jose and a short drive south to Pacific Grove starts a week of much needed salt air, cool weather, and sports car racing at its finest on the Monterey Peninsula.

Tuesday and Wednesday this week are for fun as we head to Point Lobos Nature Preserve south of Carmel to see "the greatest meeting of land and water" as Francis McComas said.


Thursday through Sunday is reserved for Sports Car Racing. For fifty years Laguna Seca has brought some of the best on track action the world of motor sport consistently providing the very best scenery for a weekend of activities.

Flight delays start or journey west. I never snitch on my airline but I can tell it is an American airline. Record crowds expected at Long Beach this year. (Read, thank you ALMS!!)

Hmmm... power just went off at ABIA International airport. Sure hope we dont have to go through security again. After this mornings security strip search I thought I was going to have to start a relationship with that TSA agent.

Anyway, touchdown in LA rescueduled for around 11:30-11:45am.

make for a long day of travel. Last night in Austin it was rolling thunder all night long. Woke up to radio reports of several water rescues underway all over Travis and Bastrop counties. Cancel the drought alerts. Lake Travis will be full by the end of the week.

Sorry to rain on SXSW's parade but so it goes. We need the wet stuff.

Arrived in Sebring some time after five pm EST. Rental house is far more than expected. Producing orange tree in the back yard and a 3500+/- acre lake in the front. Wireless connection to boot!

Stocked up on food for the week.

Will head to the track tomorrow to pickup creds. Got to love the ALMS... credential office opens at 8am and there is a photo meeting scheduled at 7:30am. Hmmmmmm....
